David Reineke’s Synthesys serves more than 450 customers across six continents with AI voice agents for sales, customer support, and e commerce.
American entrepreneur David Reineke is building Synthesys, an AI voice agent and telecommunications company, from Dubai. The company recently earned recognition through the UAE’s Future 100 initiative, which highlights promising businesses contributing to the country’s future economy.
Reineke spoke with Entrepreneur Middle East after the Future 100 winners were announced at Investopia Bridge 2026. He discussed why he chose the UAE to build his company, how he grew the business without outside funding, and how its technology helps companies improve sales and customer support.
From the United States to Dubai
David Reineke chose the UAE as the base for building Synthesys, an AI voice technology company serving customers worldwide. He made the decision after moving from the United States to the UAE and working between Dubai and Los Angeles.
“I grew up in Philadelphia in the US and became a UAE resident in 2023. After splitting my time between Dubai and Los Angeles, I moved to Dubai permanently in April 2025. When deciding where to build an international technology business, I chose the UAE for its investment in AI, entrepreneurial environment, and connectivity to customers around the world,” Reineke said to UAE Startup Story.
He also highlighted Dubai’s time zone and efficient infrastructure as advantages for running an international business. According to Reineke, starting his workday early allows him to make progress before his American team comes online, helping him manage time and improve productivity.
Building an AI company without outside funding
Synthesys operates without external investment. Reineke used his own money and the business experience he gained from earlier ventures to develop the company’s technology and build its team.
Before starting Synthesys, he ran a sales and marketing education company. He also worked as an account executive at PayPal in his early twenties, where he gained experience in sales.
Reineke said he wanted to prove the company’s business model before considering outside capital. He described Synthesys as his biggest entrepreneurial ambition, bringing together his experience in sales, marketing, and business.
The company now has two live products and more than 450 customers across six continents.
AI voice agents for sales and customer support
Synthesys develops AI voice agents that help businesses handle customer conversations and sales calls. Its technology supports more than 70 languages and serves small businesses, mid sized companies, and enterprise customers.
One of its products, Synthesys Commerce, focuses on e commerce businesses. It allows AI voice agents to contact customers, promote products, offer discounts to selected customers, and handle customer service requests.
The platform aims to help online retailers improve customer engagement while automating routine conversations. Businesses can use the technology to support sales and customer service operations across markets and languages.
Preparing for business disruptions
Reineke also discussed how Synthesys prepared its systems to handle uncertainty across the regions where it operates.
He said the company re engineered its systems to maintain operations during periods of disruption. Although the business experienced some downtime, he said it lasted only a few hours.
He credited his team for responding to the situation and restoring operations quickly. The experience, he said, strengthened his confidence in the company’s ability to handle future challenges.
What the Future 100 recognition means
Synthesys’s inclusion in the UAE’s Future 100 initiative marks a milestone for the company and its founder. Reineke’s journey reflects how an international entrepreneur has chosen Dubai as the base for a technology business serving customers worldwide.
With a bootstrapped business model, two live products, and a global customer base, Synthesys is working to expand the use of AI voice agents across sales, e commerce, and customer support.
As more companies explore AI driven customer interactions, Synthesys aims to help businesses automate conversations while reaching customers across languages and markets.
