Dubai, UAE: CreditPool, a UAE technology service provider, has launched a checkout that lets shoppers spread one online purchase across two or more existing debit or credit cards, the company has announced. The launch, in partnership with Telr, gives shoppers a choice over how much of a purchase goes on each card, according to the company.
The product works at participating merchants. At checkout, a shopper can select two or more cards already in their wallet and decide the amount to place on each one, rather than putting the full purchase on a single card. The company says the idea is built around a familiar everyday request: using the cards people already carry to pay for the same purchase, with control over the split.
Built around an everyday request
Many shoppers hold more than one card, for different banks, rewards or spending limits, yet most checkouts force a single card for the full amount, the company says. That can mean abandoning a purchase, splitting it awkwardly across separate orders, or leaving a preferred card unused. CreditPool’s checkout removes that constraint by treating the cards in a shopper’s wallet as one flexible way to pay.
The company says the approach is designed to feel ordinary rather than novel. Shoppers already think in terms of balances across cards, and merchants already accept those cards individually. CreditPool connects those two facts inside a single checkout, so the shopper decides the split and the merchant receives the full payment as usual.
Launching in partnership with Telr
CreditPool is launching in partnership with Telr, the Dubai based payment gateway provider. Telr’s platform enables merchants to accept a wide range of payment methods across the UAE and the region, and the partnership gives CreditPool a route to participating merchants through established checkout infrastructure, according to the company.
For merchants, the company says, multi card checkout can turn a declined or abandoned purchase into a completed sale, since a shopper whose single card cannot cover the full amount can still complete the order across cards. For shoppers, it means larger purchases no longer depend on one card’s limit or balance. The company presents the launch as a small change to checkout with a direct effect on how people pay online.
CreditPool is a UAE technology service provider founded by Rafik Haj Ibrahim, who serves as its chief executive. The company builds payment tools for online merchants and shoppers in the UAE, and its launch marks its entry into the region’s digital payments market.
The launch lands as online shopping keeps growing across the UAE, with more purchases moving to mobile checkouts and more shoppers expecting payment to adapt to them rather than the other way around, the company says. Payment choice has become part of the shopping experience itself, and checkouts that accept only a single card can lose sales at the final step. CreditPool argues that giving shoppers control over the split addresses that moment directly, without asking merchants to change how they sell.
For merchants, joining means offering the option inside their existing checkout, the company says. Shoppers see the choice at the point of payment, select their cards, set the amounts, and complete the purchase in one step. The company says it will work with participating merchants to bring the option to more stores, and it invites merchants interested in multi card checkout to get in touch.
