Smart Bricks, a proptech startup focused on applying artificial intelligence to real estate investment, has raised $5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz through its a16z Speedrun program. The round also included participation from other venture funds and angel investors across the United States, Europe and the Middle East, reflecting early-stage investor interest in the company’s technology and market approach.
What Smart Bricks Does
Founded in 2024 by Mohamed Mohamed, Smart Bricks is building an AI powered platform designed to modernise how real estate investments are discovered, analysed and executed. The system ingests large volumes of public and proprietary data and applies autonomous reasoning to identify investment opportunities.
The platform aims to shorten traditional real estate workflows by automating processes such as valuation, underwriting, due diligence and ongoing monitoring. Instead of operating as a listing marketplace, Smart Bricks integrates data analysis with transaction execution tools, enabling both retail and institutional investors to approach property investing in a more structured and data driven manner. The system processes millions of data points to rank properties based on projected risk adjusted returns.
Strategic Use of the Funding
The $5 million in pre-seed capital will be used to expand Smart Bricks’ AI infrastructure, further develop its autonomous reasoning capabilities and accelerate product development. The company also plans to scale across major real estate hubs and strengthen its ability to serve investors in markets including the UAE, London and the United States.
Backing from Andreessen Horowitz adds visibility to the startup at an early stage, particularly given the firm’s track record in supporting technology driven companies. Participation from a global group of investors further supports the company’s ambition to transform the real estate investment process through AI.
Industry Context
Real estate remains one of the largest global asset classes, yet many investment processes continue to rely on fragmented data sources and manual workflows. Smart Bricks is positioning itself within a growing wave of AI native startups that aim to introduce automation and deeper analytics into traditional industries.
The funding round highlights continued investor appetite for AI focused proptech startups seeking to modernise capital allocation and improve efficiency in property markets worldwide.
