Dubai SME, an entity under the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, has launched Majlis Al Mustaqbal, a new initiative focused on helping young entrepreneurs convert ideas into real, scalable businesses.

The first edition will run from April 28 to 30, 2026, at Dubai Founders HQ, bringing together aspiring founders, mentors, investors, and government stakeholders in a structured startup building environment.

A hands-on startup building experience

Majlis Al Mustaqbal is designed around action. Instead of passive learning, participants actively work on building startup ideas from the ground up. Over three days, they move through a guided journey that starts with idea generation and moves into validation, team formation, and business model development.

The program helps participants shape raw concepts into structured business ideas. By the end, each team develops a clear direction and prepares a strong foundation for a potential startup.

Mentorship and real ecosystem exposure

A key strength of the program is direct access to experienced mentors and industry experts. Participants receive continuous guidance as they refine their ideas and solve real business challenges.

They also interact with key players across Dubai’s startup ecosystem, including corporates and government entities. This exposure helps them understand market expectations and validate their ideas in a real world context.

Pitch training and final presentations

The program places strong focus on communication and presentation skills. Participants receive support in building investor ready pitches and improving public speaking.

At the end of the three days, each team presents its idea to a jury panel that includes major ecosystem partners such as Dubai Municipality, du, WIO Bank, Aramex, Digital Dubai, Dubai Sports Council, and Dubai SME representatives. The top three teams are selected based on the strength and viability of their ideas.

Built to support real startup outcomes

According to Dubai SME leadership, the initiative aims to move young entrepreneurs beyond inspiration and into execution. It equips participants with practical tools, expert guidance, and meaningful exposure.

By the end of the program, participants do not just walk away with ideas. They leave with refined concepts, structured business models, and investor ready pitches that can move forward after the event.

Aligned with Dubai’s long term economic vision

Majlis Al Mustaqbal supports the goals of Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double Dubai’s economy by 2033 and position the city as a global hub for innovation.

By building a strong pipeline of young founders and early stage startups, the initiative contributes directly to strengthening the SME ecosystem and driving future economic growth.

A recurring initiative to build future founders

Dubai SME plans to run Majlis Al Mustaqbal as an ongoing program rather than a one time event. This approach will help create a continuous pipeline of early stage ventures and emerging entrepreneurs.

The initiative also builds on earlier programs like “Founders of Tomorrow,” which connects students with real world challenges and supports them in building scalable businesses .

What this means for the startup ecosystem

With Majlis Al Mustaqbal, Dubai continues to invest in young talent and practical innovation. The program reduces the gap between ideas and execution by offering structure, mentorship, and direct access to decision makers.

This makes it easier for first time founders to take their ideas forward and build businesses that can grow within Dubai’s fast evolving startup ecosystem.
